Ride to Tea and Cake in an Antique shoppe (50 mile loop)

This route takes you out of London into the Essex countryside to a beautiful tea shoppe with an antique jungle hidden in the back. It belongs to Judi, who I love. She is a little eccentric, and always tells me off if I dont call ahead in the winter so she can put the Urn on for coffee!

Link to Judi's tea shop, it is on Duck Pond Green in Blackmore, CM4 0RR

Ride to River Swim (65 miles)

Leaving London Fields at 10am we flew through minimal traffic on a Sunday morning all the way up to Potters Bar. From there, head to Kentish lane, a fast road into the woods then out the other side to sail through fields to Hertford.
We then took the Walkern road, straight and very pretty, bypassing Stevenage. Onto Rushden then Ashwell for lunch at the Three Horseshoes. After that a mere 16 miles or so to go.

Final destination is the River Mill Tavern at Eaton Socon, on the edge of a huge weir which you can jump of and float downstream. Only watch out for the swim back up the river, the current makes it hard work! This spot is gorgeous, ignore the odd looks from people on the river bank. Just dive in and enjoy.
But do watch out for the boats! Keep yourself seen and wave hello to let them know you are there.

here is the route...

Rode up to High Beach on Sunday, the Snow had all melted leaving a boggy muddy forest. Greg Falski rode on his fixed with slick tyres - I had a go on the bike - loved it!
Ted and Greg had a collision and ended up head first in the brambles. Pretty funny

Saturday's fair offers the perfect opportunity to pick up something unique just in time for Christmas.

Mulled wine and mince pies on the menu, classic racing from the 2010 season on the screen, and a chance to check out the products on display that you just can't find in a branch of Evans.

Cyclingtipsblog.com

This site is great - cycling tips with pics, (not too snooty or geeky!) and organised rides everyday, for anyone! Unfortunately it is in Melbourne, Australia. A bit too far for me. But I am inspired. Read the 'about' section, the guys name is Wade and he says look him up if you are ever in town - awwwwww
